Dan Fallon

Managing Broker, President

Dan Fallon is the founder and president of McCallen & Sons Inc. A longtime resident of the Pacific Northwest, Dan is one of the region’s leading experts on providing cost effective, practical solutions for troubled assets. As a licensed real estate broker, Dan brings a wealth of knowledge to his work as a court appointed receiver and bankruptcy trustee, and has extensive experience working with lenders in the management of commercial properties as well as their expeditious and economical liquidation. Dan also provides consulting and expert witness services to lending institutions, the real estate industry, and commercial property owners. Dan is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Washington, and has been approved as a bankruptcy trustee by the U.S. Trustee’s Office. There is a benefit to having been in business for over 30 years. The firm has long standing relationships with successful, talented and trusted providers—accountants and bookkeepers; attorneys, environmental engineers, insurance firms, real estate brokers, fencing companies and vendors of all description. McCallen has talented and experienced Project Managers to handle a myriad of tasks and manage properties throughout the northwest. By utilizing staff and personnel with a long history of business and receivership experience, costs are kept low and there is enhanced speed and efficiency.

Grant Fallon

Broker, Vice President

Grant joined McCallen & Sons, Inc. after a 12 year career in the aerospace and security systems industries. Grant’s primary background has been as a Corporate Finance Manager where he was responsible for strategic investment analysis. This included the development and presentation of financial models using EAC, IRR and NPV analysis. As a Contracts Manager, Grant negotiated and maintained long term, strategic contracts as well as managed a team of Proposal Estimation Analysts.

Grant has also participated in several entrepreneurial ventures. He created a small investment company which acquired over $1M in real estate properties and returned investors an average IRR of 27% over four years. He has also owned and operated a restaurant with sales of approximately $850K/year which was sold within two years for nearly double the acquisition price. Grant received a Bachelor of Accountancy from University of San Diego and an MBA with emphasis in Real Estate from UCLA Anderson School of Management. Grant is also a licensed notary public and a basketball, golf, and travel enthusiast.

Jim Krieger

Broker, Senior Project Manager

Jim Krieger has over 15 years of experience in asset management, real estate brokerage, real estate leasing, accounting, and commercial lending, with an emphasis on special asset management and sales, Commercial and residential real estate development, workouts, REO liquidation, land use permitting and complex private and public partnership financing. His workout and liquidation experience has included office buildings, retail facilities, hospitality facilities, petroleum stations, residential plats and recreational developments in the Western United States. He has directed legal counsel on foreclosures, loan modifications, receivership and asset restructure. His responsibilities have included being a key member of a national bank with assets totaling $5 Billion, managing the overall activities of a portfolio including residential mortgage loans, large commercial and consumer debts. 

Mr. Krieger gained considerable workout and repositioning experience in the Special Asset Department with Abide Corp. and provides financial advisory services to the Special Assets Community as well as turnaround management and receivership clients. Mr. Krieger worked with multiple product types, including office, retail, industrial, hospitality, and multifamily. 

Continuing education includes numerous real estate and commercial banking courses highlighting credit services, lending and law.

Laura Jones

Broker, Project Manager

Since 1996 primary focus has been Commercial Real Estate, exclusively in gas stations/convenience store industry. Works closely and independently with oil company representatives of Texaco, Chevron, Shell, ARCO, and many others. Has successfully owned and operated a gas station. Experienced in all aspects of environmental phases in gas stations sales. Successfully closed over several million dollars in gas stations sales. Comprehensive knowledge of Liquor Control Board licensing and application issues. Coordinates all issues with the buyer and the lenders throughout the tedious process of financing. Inclusive understanding of escrow services and a close working relationship with numerous escrow companies. Provides valuation and consulting services for hundreds of buyers.

Broker, Project Manager

Kevin Janusz has now embarked on a new career path in commercial real estate brokerage and consulting joining McCallen & Sons, Inc. in Kirkland, WA. Prior to obtaining his Washington State broker’s license he has had a wide spanning successful career in the financial services industry. 

During the 2008 banking crisis, commercial banking veteran Kevin M. Janusz saw first-hand what happened when banks cut off much-needed capital to deserving businesses. Starved of working capital, many floundered, fell short of their potential, or went out of business altogether. Jobs were lost, lives put on hold. 

He founded Cross Key Capital in January 2011, determined to make a difference for small-to-medium size businesses with customized financing for each stage of the business growth cycle, from inception through maturity. 

Kevin has 25 years’ experience financing over $220 million to businesses in a variety of fields including manufacturing, retail, hospitality, professional services, franchise, media and marketing, food services and energy related industries. Financing structures have included start-up financing, turnaround financing, expansion capital, term financing, leveraged financing asset based lending and commercial real estate financing. He has a strong knowledge of the capital markets and insight into the macro global economic environment, having completed specific research in emerging markets. 

Kevin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Certification in Real Estate Finance, Investments and Development from the University of San Diego and graduate studies at the London School of Economics in London, England.

Laurie D'Alessandro

Project Manager / Case Manager

Governmental Compliance, Environmental Due Diligence. Project manager for operating and non-operating gas stations, and other retail commercial properties. Washington state Class A/B gasoline facility operator. Interfaces with state and local governmental officials and resolves regulatory and compliance issues on distressed properties, including environmental, health, labor and industries and public works. 

Former Director of Real Estate for Pacific Convenience & Fuels when company successfully closed escrow on the purchase of ConocoPhillips gas stations with the transaction valued at $400 million. Previously Director of Real Estate and Property Management for over 10 years with northwest based regional oil company (Time Oil Co.) with 200 properties, including leased and franchised convenience stores, terminal operations, and ancillary properties. Began career with Safeway, Inc. as a site location research analyst, business systems analyst, corporate real estate coordinator and then as an area real estate manager, developing new stores. 

Education: Certificate in Commercial Real Estate from University of Washington, B.S in Management and Marketing.
